Prayer Shawl Ministry

The Prayer Shawl Ministry was started at St. Andrew after a member who was undergoing treatment for breast cancer received a prayer shawl from a friend. Since then hundreds of prayer shawls have been given to individuals experiencing devastating illness or loss. The prayer shawls are knitted or crocheted by St. Andrew members who pray over the shawls as they are being made. The shawls are also blessed by the ministers and staff of St. Andrew. You are invited to join us in this prayerful ministry even if you don’t knit or crochet. We will teach you. We meet on the third Sunday of each month at 4:00 p.m. in Room 119.

If you know of someone who would be comforted by receiving a shawl, email Donna Fenwick or call 214.291.8011. We encourage you to pick up and deliver this special gift of love.
